Right, first thing you need to know, is a thing called 'counters'.
A counter is using one unit that is suited best, strongest vs another unit. If you for example have light horsies attack heavy horsies, you will get DOUBLE (as opposed to normal) the damage vs them because you used a 'counter'.
If you for example used heavy cav vs heavy cav, then you get less damage to them because you didn't use a 'counter'.
